4 Tips For Throwing The Perfect July 4th Pool Party

Independence Day is just around the corner, meaning it's time to get your backyard ready for friends and family! The Fourth of July is one of Texas's hottest holidays, making it a perfect time to throw a pool party. Backyard Oasis wants to make sure that this July 4th you throw a safe, fun pool party that everyone will be talking about, which is why we have gathered top tips to take your backyard to the next level this 4th of July!

1. Safety First!

Make sure your pool is clean and your chemicals are balanced before your gathering. If you're unsure whether your pool's chemistry is in line then take a sample of your water to the nearest Leslie's Pool Supply or Texsun and they will test your water for free!

2. Beat The Heat

Shade is essential this time of year! If your backyard isn't already shaded by trees or patio coverings, then umbrellas are a quick and easy way to create shade anywhere outdoors. For an added bonus, spruce up your umbrellas by stringing lights through the spokes, which will provide nice lighting once the sun goes down!

In addition to shade, it's essential that guests drink plenty of fluids during this hot holiday, so you will need to set up easy access to a place where guests can hydrate. Put waters and other drinks in a cooler that has plenty of ice to keep your refreshments cool and fresh!

3. Don't Forget The Food

If you're hosting a crowd, they're going to be hungry! One option for food is to host a potluck where everyone brings a dish with them, but if this isn't your style then plan on cooking something easy so that you aren't stuck in the kitchen, missing out on the fun! Burgers and hot dogs are simple to cook and convenient for guests to eat. Throw in some chips, various dips, a veggies tray and some cookies, and you should be set!

4. Red, White & Blue Decor

Your backyard won't be complete without a splash of Red, White & Blue! Gather some great American themed pool floats for your guests to relax on and stay cool! Themed pool floats offer a fun spin on traditional floats and carry your Fourth of July theme into the pool!

Additionally, red, white & blue glow sticks offer a cheap and easy way to add patriotic lighting to your pool. Have them float on the surface of the water by putting them inside a floatie or balloon, or drop them to the bottom of the pool to give your pool a patriotic glow with a fun twist!
